Keeping Active Together – KAT

Keeping Active Together (KAT) is an exciting project for older people to become active and involved in the community through participation and volunteering. It aims to improve the wellbeing of older people in West Hampstead and Fortune Green

Funded by The Big Lottery, KAT provides activities and workshops for people to attend and make new friends as well as get fit and healthy, get creative, learn something new or just enjoy being in a group of people.

Activities include Art, Pilates, Qi Gong, Parkinson’s Dance Class, W.HEART social club, Tai Chi, Dance for Fitness, Tea Parties, Yoga, Film Nights and iPad workshops. New activities take place all the time, so ring to find out what is currently on offer. Join us at the Wellness Café taking place on the afternoon of last Tuesday of each month with guest speakers, activities, tea and cake.

We will be launching a new programme this Spring called Keeping Well Together with activities specially for men including keep fit, a community gardening project in partnership with West Hampstead Thameslink Station and well-being taster sessions with Munro Health. Watch this space for further information.

If you have an idea of an activity you would like to take part in – please get in contact and we will see how we can help.

We also need your help supporting older people to attend events and activities. Ask how to become a KAT Ambassador.

We engage people at risk of isolation and partner with organisations such Kilburn Older Voices Exchange (KOVE) who run regular Bench to Bench walks in the local area and W.HEART to provide a diverse, accessible range of activities and services.

Help us provide information and sing post on issues such as health, welfare benefits and other community services.
