Children & Young People Project (CANDY)

‘We are a team of artists, tutors and volunteers with great skills and greater passion in educational, physical and entertaining activities. We provide fun, educational and social activities and events for children and young people throughout the year both during school terms and the school holidays. Our main aim is to work with local children, young people  and their families or carers to offer them holistic support through activities and events which promote community cohesion, social inclusion and participation. We enjoy working with all young people in our community, and we put great emphasis in our efforts of working with disadvantaged children, so that together we can enjoy all our project has to offer. Through our programmes we aim to prevent social exclusion, delinquency, marginalisation  and promote participation in the community, healthy lifestyles, appreciation of different cultures and respect for our environment.’
There are currently three after school clubs organised by the project at Beckford Primary School.
The clubs are free activities which take place on the school premises and are offered as ten weeks courses by qualified tutors. The purpose of these clubs is to provide children with opportunities in accessing and exploring a range of different activities that would not  otherwise be accessible.
