CANDY PEOPLE

Children and Young People

Our Children and Young People’s Project helps to improve the lives of children and young people through creative and sports activities.

We run an extensive programme including workshops in the school holidays, after school clubs, family film clubs and have given out creative packs to do at home.

Activities include arts, crafts, healthy eating, dance, football, storytelling, gardening and cycling in sessions run by DBS checked and qualified tutors including practicing artists sharing their expertise.

We are also providing three after school clubs a week for West Hampstead Primary School for 36 pupils, offering extra-curricular arts and crafts.

Through our continued work with West Hampstead Primary School, we are able to reach a wider range of children and cross promote the range of activities available to  support a wide range of disadvantaged children and providing extra assistance to particular families in an easy to access supportive way in the community.

For the school, pooling our resources has enabled them to offer low cost afterschool activities for all children in the school.

Our holiday workshops provide a chance for children and young people to learn a new skill, meet new friends or keep in touch with each other when school is out!  It provides those young people making a transition to secondary school a neutral place to maintain their friendships at a time when many experience additional stress or anxiety at the prospect of changing school.

If you would like to support our work by volunteering with the CANDY project please get in touch by email at candypeople@cawh.org.uk.
