About the event
Urban birdwatching is growing in popularity as we increasingly recognise the importance of preserving spaces for wildlife in our cities.
Richard Burdett has been watching birds in West Hampstead for over 20 years now, particularly the area in and around Hampstead Cemetery on Fortune Green Road.
In the talk he’ll cover the 30 birds you’re most likely to see in West Hampstead, the joy of the day the swifts return, and the one question all birdwatchers get asked.
There’s also a special mention for the one exotic species that shouldn’t be here at all but is a familiar presence to cemetery dog walkers.
It’s not a talk for experts, rather it’s for anyone who’d like to know a bit more about the birds around them and where and how to see them.
Tickets cost £6/£3 concession (benefits only) and are available via Eventbrite.
